Double spacing your document in MS Word

You know how it is, you've got to the end of your short story and it's ready to go. You've checked the word count and the font size - all good - you just need to check the submission guidelines one last time to make sure you've done everything and there it is... "Your document must be double spaced"

If you don't know how to do this - read on.

**First of all, select the whole of your text by pressing CTRL and A on the keyboard. All of your text should now be highlighted in a different colour (normally black)**.

Change formatting

'Double space' is a formatting term so, in order to change it, we must click on FORMAT on the top menu. We are changing the way our paragraphs are formatted so we click on PARAGRAPH...

Line Spacing

The first page you are presented with enables you to alter the document/paragraph spacing.

Move your mouse down to the SPACING section and click on the drop down menu below LINE SPACING

Choose DOUBLE from the drop down menu

All done, just click on OK and your document should now have a gap between each line.
